The Chennai Trekking Club (CTC) is a non-profit, volunteer based group which organizes outdoor, sports, green and social events throughout the year on weekends and weekday mornings. Founded in 2008 the group is one of the most active and largest in South India with 27 thousand members and featured in 200+ news articles. Upcoming events are informed to our members through a mailing list, write-ups on completed events are posted on our blog, ongoing member discussions happen in our Facebook group, follow us on Android. CTC organizes a wide diversity of outdoor and sports activities to promote an active and healthy lifestyle. Activities include trekking, cycling, running, open water swimming, biking, photography, educational workshops, ladies & family treks. Major annual events include the Chennai Trail Marathon, Javadhu Hill Ultra and Chennai Iron Triathlon. CTC organizes easy, moderate and difficult treks as well as periodic fitness tests for new members. Check the major highlights in our history. Ainthinai, CTC’s green wing, organizes frequent environmental conservation activities including tree plantations & maintenance, organic farming, cleanups in beaches, lakes, rivers, workshops on sustainability, terrace farming, tree walks and more. Each year CTC organizes the Chennai Coastal Cleanup and Green Day – a major awareness campaign on sustainability. We have an active green team in Pondichery.
