This shack themed restaurant is almost built on the shores of the beach and is a display of excellent craftsmanship that flows seamlessly with nature. There is a feel of rusticity in the midst of modern decor. The use of distressed furniture in the tables, benches and chairs with a view of the swaying palm trees symbolises the simplicity of the seaside way of life. The outdoor seating is even more spacious and spread out giving ample privacy.
The bar, being the main focus, has a plethora of cocktails, mocktails and liquor flowing freely to soothe nerves. The exciting food menu is inspired by the 5 elements of nature – Air, Water, Fire, Earth & Space. However, their new limited menu places a special priority on the Grill & Seafood specials. From shrimps and jumbo prawns to fish & squids, it is literally an ocean platter !! The Tamarind and Chilli Shrimp Skewers , all red and searing, set things in motion with its glazed texture and smoky flavour. The shrimps are cooked evenly and the acidity from the tamarind brings forth just the right amount of tang & sourness.
At first glance, the size of the Charcoal Grill Jumbo Prawn with Coriander and Chilli is enough to intimidate a competitive glutton. But it’s prepared in a way that each mouthful is perfectly bite sized. The meat is ample and marinated with a delicious spread of distinctive spices. The char works wonders in elevating the natural flavour of the shrimp while also providing delightful crunch and coarseness.
The surprising softness of the Vetiver Smoked Mustard & Garlic Fish Tikka is indicative of the freshness and quality of the catch. The mustard and garlic together lends tartness that is infused in its entirety. The fish is so light & tender that a gentle nudge with cutlery is enough to make the white meat fall apart in layers. The vetiver, known for its earthy aroma, is an add on.
Similarly, the Grilled Sear Fish with Mustard Dill and Lime is a creative mix of diverse personalities with each element proudly exhibiting their own distinct peculiarities. Grilled Squids, coated in green, maybe a bit unconventional, but the commingling flavours of Coconut and Curry Leaves hums an imaginative tune that dances in harmony. The squid rings are soft to the touch and retains enough moisture to be munched with relish. In a complete contrast, the Goan Recheado Grilled Squid blazes with heat and peppery fervour.
